The Association of Balkan Eco-Innovation

ClimaPannonia project launched to boost climate resilience in the Pannonian region

The Association of Balkan Eco-Innovation (ABE) is pleased to announce that the ClimaPannonia project officially started its mission to strengthen climate resilience in agriculture and regional communities throughout the Pannonian Biogeographical Area.

The project’s kick-off event, which gathered partners from across Europe, set the stage for collaborative work on innovative, climate-neutral solutions. The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to connect, exchange ideas, and define the first steps toward transforming agricultural practices across six countries: Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Czechia, and Slovakia.

This short video clip offers a glimpse into the energy and shared commitment that marked the beginning of this journey:

About ClimaPannonia

ClimaPannonia is a collaborative effort to promote climate-neutral solutions across four key agricultural subsectors:

  • Water-Food Nexus – strengthening the connection between sustainable water management and food production
  • Agroforestry – integrating trees and shrubs into farmland for resilience and biodiversity
  • Organic Crop Production – supporting healthier, low-impact cultivation methods
  • Cattle Farming – reducing emissions and improving animal welfare in livestock systems

ABE is proud to participate as a core partner in ClimaPannonia, leading the work package dedicated to communication, dissemination, and engagement. Through this role, ABE will help ensure that project results, knowledge, and tools reach farmers, policymakers, and communities across the region and beyond.

By working closely with partners, ClimaPannonia aims to implement innovative, systemic approaches that will not only improve local agricultural resilience but also serve as a model for other regions in Europe.

This is just the beginning of a shared journey to build a more sustainable, climate-adapted future for agriculture and communities.
