HASHTAG highlighted trust in satellite data at CAPIGI 2025

The HASHTAG project took the spotlight at CAPIGI 2025 (the Community on Agricultural Policy, Innovation, and Geospatial Information), held on May 14 in Amersfoort, Netherlands, where leading experts in agriculture, innovation, and geospatial data gathered to explore the future of sustainable farming.

As a proud partner in the project, The Association of Balkan Eco-Innovation (ABE) is leading Work Packages 10 and 11, focused on ensuring project visibility, effective communication, and the dissemination of project results.

In the plenary session titled “Trustworthy Satellite Data”, HASHTAG presented its approach to building trusted, transparent, and certifiable data flows for digital agriculture, combining Galileo, Copernicus Earth Observation, and robust data governance.

Key Themes at CAPIGI

This 10th edition of CAPIGI brought together bold ideas under key topics like:

  • Data governance
  • EO (Earth observation) provenance
  • Regenerative agriculture
  • Digital twins
  • Smart farming

The HASHTAG project contributed to this dialogue with a compelling presentation by coordinator Tamme van der Wal (AeroVision B.V.), who shared insights into the technical and societal value of certified Earth observation workflows in agriculture.

Why Satellite Trust Matters in Agriculture

Modern farming relies heavily on digital tools, from autonomous machinery to Area Monitoring Systems (AMS), but reliable outcomes require trust in the data behind those tools.

HASHTAG will respond to this need by introducing real-world solutions that ensure:

  • Traceability
  • High-accuracy geolocation
  • Verifiability of machine and field data

These are the foundations of smarter, more resilient, and regenerative agriculture.
